Negin Rouhbakhsh
At first sight, the colours, patterns, and intertwining in Negin Rouhbakhsh’s creations evoke the art of Persian carpets and mosaics. But there is also a contemporaneity in her work, where she links modern technological elements such as electronic chips and circuits found on computers. This double impression originates from the Persian past that she inherited and the ultra-modernity of her present.
During her stay in Vietnam, she collected additional pattern details from the Chau Ma - one of the Vietnamese ethnic minorities she met in Ta Lai. The unique combination of Persian cultural identity and Vietnamese ethnic minorities appears impressively through Negin's latest works. This is a convincing testament to the ability to co-create and cherish the traditional values of ethnic groups.
