Ruairi was brought up in Belfast, where his mum was a mosaic artist who started in his granny's garage and slowly upscaled from one studio to the next. Ruairi began developing his interest in the arts through his environment. Post-university, he lived with the intention of developing his artistic practices which allowed him to expand his art to include large-scale installations, furniture, and textile works.
